Mutton Varuval


Finally I'm able to share this hit dish! One of my family favourite dish and I serve this dish during raya open house because everyone is having same meal in every open house. So usually in my house open house will be having briyani johor, chicken briyani gravy johorian style too. Because myself is Johorian. And this mutton varuval is always available during raya. 

I usually will asks the butcher to cut the meat to bite size for easier work. So, I don't have to come home and do all this extra work.



Mutton Varuval recipe:


1kg Mutton (preferably boneless) cut bite size.
2 big Onion, sliced
10 Dry Red Chillies
2 tbsp Ginger-Garlic paste
3 tbsp. Crushed Black Pepper
2 tbsp Cumin Powder
2 tsp Salt (adjust to taste)
1 1/2 cup Water
1/2 cup Oil



Method:

1. Clean the mutton throughly with tumeric to remove the excess smell (3 times). Drain water, set aside.

2.  Add the oil. Once the wok started to warm up add the sliced onions. Tear the red chilies and add them too. Add in curry leaves too.  2 or 3  spring of curry leaves.

3. Sauteed the onion until it brings out the fragrant and slightly brown. Add in the ginger and mix it well.

4. Add in the pepper, cumin and salt to the mutton and combine well.

5.  Add in the mutton into the wok and cook together and add the water. Cover the wok with a lid to let it cook for 10 minutes. To soften the meat.

6. Let it cook until the gravy thickens to an almost dry consistency. Serve with warm rice, raita and pair with papadom would be a perfect dish! walla..

Spaghetti aglio olio



Spaghetti?! Who doesn't mind having it once in awhile, my two kids is 100% love to eat rice  but there will come to a time where Ma, I don't want to eat rice. What is the fastest dish to do is definitely this! Spaghetti is always available in my counter top. Its more like a quick meal for breakfast, dinner etc..

I have to admit that I do love roti jala; to some may know that roti jala is part from my menu for my catering.

Roti jala usually in my family serve during raya celebration on the first day. Its more like a tradition that my mum does every year. The fact that I love roti jala I learned to make it by my mum.

Traveling to Johor with two kids

Johor where I was born and move to Kuala Lumpur as my parents received an offer here. We only come back to Johor when there's a wedding, family events. Because I never find johor fascinating at all. But eventually we stop coming to johor as most of my mum's siblings moved to Kuala Lumpur.

After I got married we plan for a road trip in 2015  right when Abraham turns 6months. Travelling across one state to another. I think we make 5 states. Yet that time we left early as we have no plans to go, except for the zone duty free mall.

Then recently we went to Marta fair in Kuala Lumpur. Where Abraham stumble upon Thomas Town in Nusajaya, Johor and yes of course we bought the ticket to fulfilled this love for Thomas and friends. For the whole week bugging us about Thomas, can't sleep, can't eat. 😅😅

Eventually on Sunday, we push to Johor at 2.30pm and arrive a roughly around 6.30..
We stayed at one of the airbnb's house in Seri Austin only for one night because the house wasn't fully equipped for a stay. Kids friendly yes but they have camera in the kitchen, dining area etc I feel like uncomfortable. Lol

Anyway we move to the different place next day. Which I will share about it in the next post. I love the place, warm; you feel welcome. You feel home. Owner is so friendly.

Blueberry muffins - bakery style

Hello everyone, yes I have been busy. work and family same thing bla bla..

I want to share you guys this delicious bakery style blueberry muffins; the taste is absolutely different than the usual ones I have been making at home.

I love the bakery style but I reduce the sugar and change it to molasses sugar instead normal white sugar as i'm very caution with my kids sugar intake daily hehe...

easy peasy try it you will definitely love it.

Lemon Loaf





Simply delicious. A request by Abraham for the first time he asked for a lemon cake. I'm glad that Abraham decided something different beside chocolate. we enjoyed the lemon fragrant. It was indeed a beautiful loaf and taste amazing. I recently follow this page on facebook Happy home meals by Mandy, she seems to inspired all home cooked to cook daily and everyone there is doing their daily cooking and baking too. ra



Ingredients:

3 whole eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup canola oil
1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp lemon zest
1 or 2 tbsp lemon juice
1 cup sour cream

Method:

1.Preheat oven to 350F. Spray a 9x5-inch loaf pan with floured cooking spray, or grease and flour the pan; set aside.

2.Loaf - To a large bowl, add the eggs, sugar, sour cream, and whisk vigorously until smooth and combined. Drizzle in the oil while whisking to combine.

3.Add the lemon zest, lemon extract, and whisk to combine.

4.Add the flour, baking powder, salt, and stir until just combined, don't overmix.

5.Turn the batter out into prepared pan, smoothing the top lightly with a spatula. Bake for about 50 to 52 minutes.

6.Allow loaf to cool in pan on top of a wire rack.

Cheese Pepperoni Boat


This is really a quick fix meal you can prepare if you in a rush or you wanted something simple yet filling this boat bread would be perfect. This is my second time making it; I first tried I failed, my bread turn soggy and the cheese batter weren't strong. It was so runny.
